Invest in Professional Holistic Education Programmes to Build your Business
This course is offered as a workshop and is open to anyone interested in learning more about reflexology and how to perform self treatments and also working on friends and family. You do not need to be a reflexology practitioner to take this course, it is open to students and clients alike.
Hand Reflexology is often mistakenly been considered a less effective form of reflexology. This is not correct, although sensations or responses from hand reflexes are slightly delayed and may take a few seconds longer to be experienced. The hands are far more accessible and it is easier for clients to work their own hands than their feet and almost impossible for those with mobility issues.
This workshop is also an integral part of a Professional Reflexology Practitioner’s’ certification. The Practitioner Diploma is obtained through completion of case studies. Should you wish to offer this treatment to paying clients then you must complete or already have completed your anatomy and physiology (proof is required) and also complete the 15 case studies.
Progression for Reflexology Therapists – It is suggested that reflexology therapists can demonstrate a few techniques to clients as an excellent aftercare tool! And/Or run short workshops yourself on a chosen theme to educate clients in some techniques as a self help tool. This is an excellent opportunity to increase awareness and increase income.
What is Hand Reflexology?
Hand Reflexology works in the same way as foot Reflexology. You will use the same techniques as the foot when working the reflex points on the hand and provide a full treatment covering all the systems.
It may be used when the reflexologist is unable to treat the feet. This might be, for example, when a client has a contra-indication, severe damage to the foot or amputation. It may also be used for self-reflexology treatment, as hands are more accessible than the feet. Giving hand Reflexology is more flexible in terms of place of treatment, it can be carried out at any time or any place (within reason!)
Applying pressure to specific reflex points may help to relieve stress or tension and to treat specific ailments in between treatments. The effects are the same as foot reflexology but the area treated is smaller and the points are more condensed.
It is an excellent treatment for those who work with their hands, example RMT’s and those suffering with repetitive strain injuries, carpal tunnel etc.
