This is NOT a reflexology massage with stones this is a clinical treatment for presenting conditions, however you may if you wish perform your reflexology entirely with stones
This course gives the qualified reflexology therapist ideas and techniques of how to incorporate the hot and cold stones into their practice. You may choose to incorporate the stones into your 1 hour sessions or you may choose to add extra time onto the treatment to incorporate the stones.
The techniques demonstrated during the course are ideas for you to use and adjust as you deem necessary for a clients presenting conditions. You will learn how to use placement stones and how to heat and cool your stones.
The treatment is versatile, use your imagination to adapt.
The heat from the stones can quickly open the reflex pathways bringing about a much deeper level of relaxation than reflexology alone, allowing a deeper penetration to improve circulation and relieve muscular tension. Hot Stone Reflexology is a wonderfully relaxing treatment.
The thermogenic and energetic properties of the basalt stones create an extremely therapeutic and relaxing reflexology session. The heat of the stones penetrates much deeper, to relieve tension, improve circulation, soothe and relax. Cool stones may be utilized within treatments to support clients with muscle injuries or inflammation.
Training Day Overview
The morning will commence with a brief introduction into the theory and practice of Hot Stone therapy with a demonstration as to how a range of stones can be utilised to enhance your Reflexology treatments. The remainder of the day will be practical reflexology, so be prepared to experience 1st hand the wonderful benefits of this therapy. You will be working on each other, and as classes are small you are guaranteed plenty of individual tuition. You do not need to learn a new sequence for this course, it is about learning how to incorporate these techniques into your current treatment planning and routines.

Prerequisites: Diploma in reflexology or are currently studying towards your diploma and conducting case studies.

You’ll learn background information, theories and perspectives, overall benefits, best practices, use and care of stones.
You’ll discover the history – exploring the origin of hot and cold stone reflexology, its development and usage over time and how it is practised.
The practical side of hot stone reflexology – preparation of your stones, how to incorporate them into your existing treatments and the safety precautions to be aware of.
An important aspect of any administered therapy is to assess and understand how the client is responding. You’ll learn how to understand your clients in this way and measure their progress. You will also become more knowledgeable about the training and practice involved in hot and cold stone reflexology. Students learn to use hot volcanic basalt stones and cold stones to apply precise alternating pressure techniques for therapeutic effect on the corresponding area of the body.
